Da’Jon Hayes-Burr is my nephew, and he showed incredible bravery this past Saturday after Thunder over Louisville in Kentucky. While most people were enjoying the festivities, Da’Jon stepped in to protect a 12-year-old girl and her mother from a dangerous situation involving a pedophile. In the process, he was stabbed in the stomach, putting his own safety on the line to help others.

Our family is deeply grateful that Da’Jon is still with us, but his road to recovery will be long and challenging. The emotional and physical toll of what happened is immense, and we want to do everything we can to support him as he heals. The funds raised here will go directly toward Da’Jon’s recovery and to show our appreciation for his selfless act of heroism.
