Support Caspa's Battle Against Aggressive Tumor

Donation protected
Hello, my name is Laurel and I am here asking for help paying for medical expenses for my cat Caspa.

Caspa has been recently diagnosed with an Injection Site Sarcoma, an invasive tumor located left of his spine close to his chest wall and lungs.

These tumors are aggressive and, if left untreated, will end his life most likely within a year. We have decided to treat it aggressively to give him more life to live with quality of life intact. We have had the tumor aspirated, blood work drawn, chest x-rays performed, and gotten a biopsy. In conclusion from his lab work, the next step will be to get a CT scan under general anesthesia to know if his cancer has metastasized and if surgery is going to enhance quality and time of life.

Initial appointments leading to this point have already added up to approximately $1,000 in vet expenses. The CT scan and anesthesia are set to cost up to $5,000, and if it goes well and his cancer has not yet metastasized, his surgery will reach up to another $6,000.

If his surgery goes well, there is still a chance that not all of the tumor can be removed due to the shape and aggressive nature of it. To have the best chance of eradication, additional radiation therapy will be needed, which will cost more thousands of dollars along with needing to take him to appointments daily M-F for a month's time.
Caspa may just be a cat to many, but to me, he is a pillar of love and light.
I adopted Caspa along with his sister Rusko 5 years ago when they were 3 years old after my friend and their owner suddenly passed away.
I was helpless and afraid of life. I was in need of a way to heal myself while also feeling like I could make a true positive contribution in light of a dark time. When I heard the cats were possibly going to be taken to a shelter or placed in a less consistent home, I knew what I wanted to do. I wanted to give love and a home to these two cats in need. In our 5 years together now, he has captured my heart and the thought of his life being cut this short by a horrible fate is unbearable.

Regardless of donations received, we will be going through with the CT scan and then surgery if possible, but any and all help will be greatly received and appreciated to help with the medical bills and the time and attention required.

I am currently unemployed and looking for work. I quit my job in hopes of finding a better fit weeks before we received his diagnosis. The timing is unfortunate and is a big part of why I created this fundraiser for Caspa.

He is so loved by many and I want to do everything I can to keep him happy and in our lives to spread joy for years to come.

Thank you for your consideration and please, if you have a cat, educate yourself on ISS and how to prevent this outcome.

January Update: Caspa has had his surgery to remove him sarcoma. It went well (actually better than expected) and they were able to close the excision with minimal repercussions. We still are planning to move forward with radiation treatments which will help ensure the eradication of micro cancer cells left behind.
