Support Callie Pedrina's Open Heart Surgery

Aloha! My name is Melody Masutani, and I am a good friend of Annie and Raymond (Aliʻi) Pedrina. I am organizing this fundraiser on behalf of Callie Pedrina, Annie and Ray's 18-month-old daughter.

Annie and Ray welcomed their twin daughters, Callie and Nollie, on February 20, 2023, in Lewiston, Idaho. Shortly after birth, Callie was diagnosed with a rare heart condition known as Right Superior Vena Cava to Left Atrium. This serious condition causes lower oxygen saturation levels and a compromised immune system and will ultimately require open-heart surgery.

This diagnosis flipped their lives upside down. Annie has since needed to step away from teaching to stay home and give Callie the best and cleanest environment possible, while caring for her twin sister Nollie.

In June 2024, Callie’s latest echo scans revealed that her pulmonary valve is thickening and that her heart is under increasing stress. With the guidance of her medical team, the decision has been made to proceed with open-heart surgery at Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane, Washington to alleviate further strain on her body.

The Pedrinas are now facing another stay away from their home and the financial costs associated with travel, lodging, and essentials while Callie recovers in the Pediatric ICU and her ongoing recovery at home. We hope to ease some of their financial burdens during this difficult time.
