Support Bodie's Heart Journey

12-9-24 Update: Bodie had a successful Berlin Heart procedure last Friday, the Dr’s are very pleased with how Bodie is doing. As we do not know how long Bodie will be in the Hospital, Alec and Amanda’s needs are not clearly defined. They want to thank each and every one of you for your generous donation and continued prayers. As of now, we are going to pause the donations, but please keep those prayers coming that a donor heart becomes available and for the donor family.

In November of 2023, my grandson Bodie was diagnosed with a rare genetic disorder called Barth Syndrome and was hospitalized for over a month. This disorder affects the heart, muscles, immune system, and growth. Bodie was managing okay over the past year, but on November 21st, 2024, he fell ill and was taken to the ER in El Paso, TX. The hospital in El Paso decided to medivac him to Driscoll Children's Hospital in Corpus Christi for more specialized care. On December 4th, after little improvement, Driscoll Children's decided that Bodie needed more specialized care and airlifted him to Texas Medical Center in Houston, Texas. This was an answer to prayer as TMC's Pediatric Cardiology Center is one of the best in the world. Today, December 6th, Bodie will be receiving a Berlin Heart, which is a stopgap until a donor heart becomes available. Bodie will remain in the hospital until the heart becomes available.

As you can imagine, Alec and Amanda's life has been turned upside down once again, but being believers in Christ, they have a sense of peace and understand that Bodie's condition is all part of God's master plan.

We are raising funds to help with the following:

1. Housing for Alec and Amanda and their other 3 kiddies.

2. Help with relocation expensives

3. Unforeseen immediate & future expensives

Prayer Requests:

1. Berlin Heart surgery is successful

2. A donor heart becomes available

3. For the family that will be donating the heart, their grief will be unimaginable

4. New employment for Alec in Houston as this will be a long road

5. That God continues to be with them and gives them peace and comfort

Any amount will help Alec and Amanda as they navigate this season in their life, but the most important thing any of us can do is pray for their family.
