I never imagined I’d be in a position to ask for help like this. After 7 years as a flight attendant, my airline abruptly ceased operations, leaving me and thousands of others without jobs overnight. I also lost over 80 hours of sick time, two weeks of vacation, and I’m unsure if I’ll even receive a final paycheck.

I would have never thought I’d be jobless right before my birthday this month, but I’m staying grounded and grateful for life, knowing others may have it worse. I’m not looking for a handout just some stability during this uncertain time.

I’ve paid my rent through June, but beyond that, things are unclear. My health insurance and benefits ended immediately, and funds I had saved in my HSA are no longer accessible. Right now, my priorities are maintaining housing and access to healthcare.

Anyone who knows me knows I don’t ask for help. I’ve always been someone who gives. But with over 17,000 people suddenly out of work, the situation is overwhelming. I’ve already begun applying for jobs and remain hopeful, but nothing is guaranteed in the coming weeks.

If I need to, I’m prepared to sell personal belongings even my car but stability and health come first.
