Running Manchester Marathon to support Refugees
We are running the Manchester Marathon together on April 14th. It’s a personal challenge for us both, we’ve only ever ran half this distance (once!) but by doing it together we know we’ve got this!
We have decided to run the marathon for Care4Calais charity. Running a marathon is a challenge but we are so lucky to even have that choice to be able to sign up and do one.
Care4Calais works with refugees stuck in Calais; sleeping rough without even being able to use a tent as some shelter. They also work with those who arrive in the UK, placed in hotels waiting for their asylum claims to be processed. These people have been through horrors that most of us can’t even imagine and these horrors don’t stop when they arrive on ‘safe land’. Care4Calais provides emotional support, aid, clothes and food donations, friendly faces and more to those who really need it.
We hope to raise money to support those affected by the refugee crisis and that anything we contribute adds some positivity to their lives.
We really appreciate your donations, small or big, to help rebuild people’s lives in safety and with dignity.
Lots of love, Sam and Kim x
