The Zavala-Orlando Disaster Relief
Donation protected
My name is Brittany Zavala and I am from Westchester NY.
On April 16th 2016 in Manta Manabi located on the coast of Ecuador where the majority of my family call home. The 7.8 magnitude earthquake and subsequent aftershocks are responsible for bringing them, their communities and country to its knees. Leaving in its wake devastating mass destruction, incalculable and irrevocable loss. Claiming a population death toll that included the lives of 2 beloved family members. It decimated the homes, livelihoods and every possession my family and thousands ever called their own. So it should be no surprise that tragedy hitting close to home, spawned this immediate humanitarian Relief Initiative.
When tragedy strikes we all want to help but the society we live in always makes us question if they help is really getting there and if our efforts every truly make a difference. I began this cause under my firm core belief "if you want to do something right, do it yourself" so that those who's closest hope to direct and immediate relief can be made possible and found through this humanitarian direct relief initiative. With the help of your loving contributions and those made throughout the local community I was able to collect and distribute aid to over 400 families. (Which was published in the local paper and in the states via The Huffington Post)
My capabilities, extent and quality of outreach, is only made possible by your contribution and any way in which you are willing and able to provide.
With little broadcast and light shed on the need in Ecuador over 10,000 lbs of emergency aid set to be transported to ecuador has been delayed as we awaited donations and support to get it there.
BUT Everything happens for a reason although help continues to be needed in Ecuador, they remain stable. Given the urgent state of of affairs we have broadened our outreach and donations and supplies are being routed to assist the victims in Haiti.
Despite major organizations like the Red Cross, relief is little to scarce. And in the most devastated parts, non-existant.
We make contact with individuals on the ground and get estimates on the exact needs of its victims in the area.
Which included diapers, formula, baby cereal, baby bottles, clothing and shoes for men women and children, first aid supplies, lifestraw water filters Medecine's, vitamins and more.
Only by way of the pledges made to this forum can we acquire the imminent supplies needed in order to ease suffering and facilitate survival. All of which is then organized and packaged for direct distribution.
If you want to help and make a difference.

If you want to see your love and generosity in action
