Hi, my name is Claudia Maceo, the manager of The Twig Book Shop in San Antonio, TX. Our storytelling phenomenon Miss Anastasia, loved for the more than 24 years by her colleagues, generations of local children who we refer to as Twiglets, their parents, and local teachers, suddenly lost her beloved husband Steven McKenna after a lengthy, painful illness.

Miss Anastasia has been blessed to have been able to have a weekly storytime at the bookstore and contract with schools, organizations, and private parties as a storyteller for the past 24 years. With two children still in college, house maintenance and payments, and medical bills, there will be many financial adjustments to make.

At this time, we, at The Twig Book Shop, want to raise enough money for her to be able to buy a beautiful combo bench-headstone that will define the two-plot gravesite where she will one day join him. Consider joining the Binc Foundation, the Book Industry Charitable Foundation, in making a donation of any amount to our fundraising effort for the McKennas. We would like to present this gift to Anastasia and her children before the new year.
