Stanford’s Summer Scholar Session

Hi! My name is Kylie Griffith, and I am an eleventh grade student who really wants to attend Stanford’s Summer Scholar Session this summer! I was accepted into the program just a few weeks ago. I would get live on campus at Stanford for eight weeks, take interesting and high level classes, explore the campus, and have access to the athletic facilities to train for my upcoming senior cross country season.
Being able to attend this program would mean so much to me, my education, and my growth as a person. I would love to participate in this program because it would immerse me in a environment of driven students and people, and I would create connections that could help me with career/resumes throughout life. The classes would help me get a head start into a great college career. I would be more prepared for attending a great university after high school. I’d learn academic and career skills for in and out of the classroom alongside amazing and diverse students and professors.
This program is expensive though! I earned a $4,000 grant from Stanford already (I still can’t believe Stanford is giving me money!) and I am applying for other scholarships. I recently competed in a local speech contest where I won $100, and will soon be going on to compete against more people and hopefully earn more money, all of which will go towards my summer at Stanford. Anything that could be contributed would be greatly appreciated, because I feel that spending a summer at Stanford could truly motivate and inspire me to get to where I want to be in life and make a difference.
