I was shot in the chest while four of my children witnessed the entire ordeal. No child should ever have to watch their mother fight for her life, yet that is the reality my family now carries with us every day.

By the grace of God, I survived.

After emergency surgery, I was told that my breast implant may have prevented the bullet from reaching my heart. Hearing how close I came to losing my life is something I will never forget.

While my physical wounds continue to heal, the emotional trauma remains. My children and I are working through the fear, anxiety, and heartbreak left behind by that day. What happened changed our lives in an instant, and the sense of safety we once had has been replaced with uncertainty.

I have always worked hard to provide for my family and create a stable home for my children. Asking for help has never come easily to me, but after surviving this unimaginable tragedy, I know I cannot rebuild alone.

My greatest priority now is giving my children a safe place to heal.

To do that, I am hoping to relocate my family to a safer community where we can begin again without the constant reminders and fear associated with what happened.
