Hello everyone, I am doing a GoFundMe for my father, Michael Smith.

Some may know my dad as Mick, Kru the Muay Thai trainer or just a good mate. December last year my dad found out he has Stage 3B large B cell Lymphoma. Given a year left to live without treatment he decided to go through with chemotherapy currently on his 3rd treatment.

After consulting with his long time financial advisor he was told he could quit working, get a loan from the bank and super out so he can renovate his 35 year old home and sell it. With doing this he planned to travel and live partially overseas as well as help me and my family buy a first home with a granny flat so he can still be close to us.

Now after quitting his job, starting renovations and buying over $12,000 worth of supplies he’s been told by the super company he cannot access his money and the bank won’t give him a loan without him having an income. Leaving him unable to finish the renovations and unable put the house up for sale. He is also now unable to return to work due to the doctors deeming him unfit to work, with government assistance he is barely able to live and not able to pay his mortgage.

My dad has always been strong and independent and never likes to ask for help. But right now, he has been left with no other option.
