My name is Leason Smith, I am starting this GoFundMe on behalf of my best friends Jennifer Sorsdahl and her husband Justin.

This transplant is a blessing they’ve been waiting for, but it also comes with overwhelming financial challenges. They live over 2.5 hours away from the transplant hospital, which means long drives, hotel stays, meals away from home, and other unavoidable costs during Justin’s surgery and recovery.

Right now, Jen is on WCB due to a serious workplace injury and has significant limitations that prevent her from working at all. Justin’s pay was also cut by one-third back in February when he went on long-term disability. These combined setbacks have left them struggling to keep up with basic expenses, and they’ve even had to move in with Jen's parents to try to stay afloat while she continue's her nursing education and support's Justin through his journey.

I’m reaching out to ask for your support during this critical time. Any donation, no matter the size, will directly help them with:

• Travel expenses to and from the hospital

• Accommodation costs; so Jen can stay nearby while Justin is in surgery and recovery

• Meals and basic needs, while away from home

• Covering essential costs; while Justin and Jen navigate recovery and limited income
