Santa Rosa Plateau Needs Your Help!
Tax deductible
Will you help restore and reopen the Santa Rosa Plateau Ecological Reserve ("Reserve") located in Murrieta, California that was severely damaged in the Tenaja Fire? (See the Reserve before the fire at https://www.rivcoparks.org/santa-rosa-plateau-ecological-reserve/.)
The amazing firefighters took a stand to save the Reserve Visitor Center, but lush vegetation, trees and habitats along with the assets associated with property security, maintenance and the youth environmental education programs were lost. The youth education programs funded by the SRP Nature Education Foundation are suspended until the Reserve is reopened. Visit www.srpnef.org
for information about the education programs.
The Reserve, one of the most significant, ecologically sensitive and diverse protected spaces in California, was devastated by fire on Sept 4, 2019. The historical and research-rich Santa Rosa Plateau Ecological Reserve lost approximately 2,000 acres. The Reserve had not experienced an uncontrolled fire since it was set a side as a protected site 35 years ago.
