Four Rescued Thoroughbreds!
Donation protected
On Friday, March 13, 2015, Spring Hill Horse Rescue took in 4 malnourished thoroughbreds, voluntarily relinquished during the course of an animal cruelty investigation conducted by our Humane Agents and Vermont State Police. These horses are all malnourished, suffer from parasites, and they have terrible skin infections.
In Spring Hill's care, they will receive nutritional support, with a careful diet designed so that safely put back on weight. They will receive all of the veterinary care they need - including treatment for painful ulcers on their skin from untreated infections, worms, and likely gastric ulcers, caused from starvation. We estimate the costs for their first two months in rehabilitation will be several thousand dollars.
We know you care about animals just as much as we do; and we, and the hundreds of horses we have rescued and rehabiliated, It takes a community to save these animals, and we have you to thank for your kind support of the many gentle spirits who have come through our barn doors. Please help us bring 4 more back to their former majestic selves! Thank you!
