Sponsor a Bass Marimba Bar!

One of the highlights of the CPN event in Winnipeg (The Space Between IV) is a keynote presentation by Jim McCarthy on the design, building, acoustic properties and sonority of a Bass Marimba! Jim is building a 2 octave instrument (from C3 down to C1!!) and is bringing it to Winnipeg from Saskatoon to talk about it, and for participants to get to play it!

Each bar is being built with its own resonator that will act as its stand, so the bars can be interlocked to function as a full 2 octave instrument, or the bars can be used as individual independent notes! The design is quite remarkable.

As you'd imagine, there are significant material costs that go in to creating an instrument like this. I am organizing this fundraiser to help cover those costs. The bars have been divided up into a range of prices, and each sponsor will have their name engraved on the resonator for the bar that they sponsor!

The donation for each bar is indicated in the cover photo, please email or message me to indicate with your donation which bar you would like to sponsor, this will be managed on a first come-first served basis. Your sponsorship includes: recognition on the bar that you sponsor, recognition during the conference, and a CPN T-shirt for the first 10 sponsors! (unfortunately, you don't get to take your bar home with you, but you might be able to visit it at a future CPN event!
