Sophia's MRI

Sophia and her Mom, Ellani,  needs our help. Sophia has been having trouble walking, going up and down the stairs to her home,  and even keeping her balance when she is standing still. Though dogs of her breed are susceptible to a neurological condition (degenerative myelopathy), she tested negative for the markers that would indicate that she suffers from this condition. X-rays proved to be inconclusive.

Sophia needs an MRI and needs it soon.

She has been undergoing acupuncture and just had her first electro-acupuncture treatment. These treatments have provided slight relief. Three veterinarians (yeah, she's been to three different clinics) agree that an MRI is the only way to truly diagnose the problem and to be able to treat her aggressively. 

Unfortunately, an MRI, with associated costs, will run between $2800 and $3400. Ellani cannot afford this so we are reaching out to our friends and kind strangers.

If you are from our neighborhood, you already know what s sweet soul Sophia is. They call her the Mayor of Eastlake Terrace. She greets everybody with her amazing smile.

Losing her would be crushing.
