Skateboarder Recovery Fund
Donation protected
12-year Lawrence resident was life-flighted to KU Med on he and his partners 14-year anniversary on May 7, 2022 around 7:30pm. He is a very supportive member in our community, especially among those who feel lost in life and take to skateboarding for comfort. If you're interested in seeing a little more about his social media life, look to "Street Eaters Club" on Instagram, which involves local skateboarders over 35 simply ollying curbs. It's an extremely frustrating irony to the family that skateboarding brought him to KU Med on May 7, as he was participating in an event where a group of sponsored skaters were skating down a hill for a photo op. No one was wearing a helmet. Sean was the only one injured as, from what the family understands, another skater, in front of him, swerved in front of Sean and, upon collision, Sean was thrown about 20 feet. The other skater was unharmed.
Sean has already missed his daughter's 10th birthday. Please help us change the culture of this community by encouraging our loved ones to always take precautions. If able, consider donating to help with his recovery because he is a fighter. The family would fight for you, too, if you were in this situation. They will also ensure that every penny, frankly, will go toward regular visits to the hospital, as well as rehab upon discharge, which, at this point, is clear he is going to need. Thank you for donations and sharing. Please wear a helmet and keep skating in honor of Sean ❤️
