Single mom and kids need help

Donation protected

I'm a single mom raising three children on her own.  I've worked really hard this past year completing over 140 college credits in 14 months to earn my B.S. degree.

Last semester I took a 20 credit class load and requested several thousand dollars additional student loans in the process. I was intending to set this money aside to help offset bills while I looked for a new job following graduation.

I spoke to my financial aid advisor at my school at least once in October, once in November, twice in December, and twice this January.  She assured me my loans were on the way and blamed my Post 9/11 GI Bill VA status as the reason for the delay.

I was informed two days ago that my college insitution never submitted my request for loans even though I submitted the appropriate paperwork and followed up accordingly.   Because I graduated this past December, the school cannot request any funding for the previous semester.

Then yesterday, my van broke down, pouring transmission fluid all over the road.  I had it towed to my house but I lack the money to hire a mechanic to diagnose the problem, much less repair the vehicle.

I need to rent a car until mid-February.  I made the emergency decision to return to school and begin my MBA degree in order to request additional loans to repair my financial situation but the money won't arrive till next month.

I am raising three young children on my own.  My daughter has Down Syndrome and autism and requires therapy several times a week.  Even though I currently have a job meeting her medical needs as a Certified Nurse Aid (CNA), this is not enough money to cover the bills.  Even with my current degree, her physical and medical needs often shorten my availability to work a second job to make ends meet.

Without a working vehicle and the funds to rent a car and repair my van, our entire lives have come to a screeching halt.  We've been plunged into a short-term, but very serious financial situation.

I know the holiday season just ended and everyone's finances are very tight right now.   It's embarassing having to ask for your financial support right now.  But it's the truth.

I intend to use the money raised from your generosity to rent a car for the next month until my student loans arrive and I can afford to repair my vehicle.  The estimated total cost of renting a car for that long comes to nearly $800.00.  I'm hoping the remaining funds combined with my own earnings will cover the financial "hold" they will also put on my bank card as a security deposit.

I am a very hard worker, dedicated mother, honors student,  and community volunteer.  But my children and I are in great need and I'm asking for any contribution you can spare us.

If you can't support us financially, there are two more ways you can support me.

A. Posting and sharing this with your friends

B. Keep us in your thoughts/well wishes/prayers/love over the next few months while I focus on steering my family through this crisis

Thank you in advance for any way you're willing to help.
