Sinas Long Road to Recovery
Donation protected
On Saturday night my sister, Tiffany, received a phone call that is every parents worst nightmare. Her daughter Sina, a student at Highland High School, had attended her homecoming dance with her boyfriend. While traveling home they were in a horrific car accident. Both kids were wearing their seat belts but when the car rolled Sina was ejected from the vehicle. She was taken to Portneuf Medical Center by air ambulance and later emergency flight to Salt Lake City. Sina is currently in the ICU- the right side of her pelvic bone is completely separated from her spine and the left side is broken as well. The orthopedic surgeon attempted surgery to repair her pelvis but her vital signs were too weak for him to finish. Her pelvis is currently being held together by an "erector set" of screws and plates located outside her body. Surgery can't continue until her body is strong enough to tolerate further operations, which will include her pelvic bone and both arms, as well as multiple cuts and lacerations. Her parents remain with her in Salt Lake. Any support you can give is greatly appreciated.
