Shoebill Conservation: Your Help Matters
Tax deductible
My name is Ryan Burke with the Friends of Save Shoebill Conservation Project. We are a US-based 501 (c)(3) non-profit, raising funds for the Uganda-based Save the Shoebill Conservation Project (SSCP), a non-profit conservation project providing the boots-on-the-ground effort to help protect and ensure the sustainability of the endangered Shoebill Stork.
The wetlands are a vital aspect of this conservation effort, and the funds raised from this campaign will go to help SSCP acquire a one-acre plot of land to establish an office and base to provide tours of the Shoebill, generating revenue and allowing the group to further their capabilities in this effort.
Helping SSCP not only ensures the preservation of the Shoebill Stork but also the fragile ecosystem containing many other species. A local presence is needed to put in the work for this effort, and the funds from this campaign will start the process of creating a training facility to employ locals to help with this conservation project, attracting an increasing number of tourists. As tourism grows, there are ancillary services provided to tourists, further spreading the benefit of this project!
We don't want to simply save the Shoebill, but help them thrive, creating a unique and lasting opportunity for their natural habitat in Uganda
