Shandra MacNeill Recovery Fund
Donation protected
Volunteer Artistic Director of the Brandon Folk, Music and Art Festival for the past ten years, Shandra MacNeill has just undergone a life-saving kidney transplant following kidney failure as a result of advanced Type 1 (childhood-onset) diabetes. Journey to find a Kidney
Battling through her diabetes, of a particularly precarious type, often called 'brittle' or 'difficult', she was still able to build the Brandon Festival into a beloved world class event for all artists. Even when her kidneys started to fail she still took time to put others first-whether artists, colleagues, or friends. With no income and no access to insurance, disability, or sick pay, this is our opportunity to give back.
Shandra has now entered into a critical time that needs to be filled with as much rest and as little stress as possible. Your donations would go towards helping with general expenses, groceries, hospital parking, and lots of tomatoes - as she can now finally enjoy foods that have been off limits for years!
