UPDATE-April 15, 2026
There seems to be conflicting information on social media with respect to the Crown Villa GoFundMe account, and I would like to provide an update at this time.
1. The amounts quoted on the GofundMe page are estimates from the contractor. It is very difficult to determine the exact cost, without having all the information. If you look at the GoFundMe amount, it does read $80,000. The amount donated thus far is $2,260.
2. The GoFundMe page has been verified by Global News. This issue has already been addressed on the GoFundMe page below, but I definitely appreciate the concern people have in today’s society. Below is a link to Global News video.
3. Once the GoFundMe account is finalized, if there are no proceeds allocated toward repairs at Crown Villa, the donated funds will be directed to other charitable organizations.
4. To date, the Landlord has not complied with the order to repair the property and the power remains shut off. Nothing further has been verified in terms of the Landlord’s plan for Crown Villa, or the tenants for that matter.
Please keep sharing—this is such a heartbreaking situation, and it deserves attention

THIS IS NOT A SCAM
Hi my name is Rhonda and I am a concerned citizen of Vernon who knows some of the people living in the Crown Villa Trailer Court.
You’ll see in the photos attached a letter that confirms this is definitely a legitimate issue that has been ongoing. I hope this is enough to convince people that this is not a scam.
As you may have seen in the news, the landlord is stating she is unable to comply with the Order from the Technical Safety Board to bring the property up to code, creating a hazardous situation for the residents. Therefore the power to the 12 homes is being cut off effective April 10, 2026. This will also result in the water being shut off as they are on a well system.
We have sourced an accredited electrician company who has generously agreed to upgrade the trailer court for the cost of supplies and equipment at an estimated cost of $60,000 to $70,000
PLEASE READ IMPORTANT CLARIFICATION
We've seen some concerns about donations going the landlord. To be clear this fundraiser is NOT to help the landlord in any way. This fundraiser is about:
- emergency safety measures
- electrical materials
- trying to prevent vulnerable residents from losing power and water to their homes, which they own outright, and will have to walk away if repairs are not completed.
We are stepping up because time is running out and the residents are at risk of losing their homes and animals. Not because this is our responsibility but because the Landlord has been negligent and is NOT complying with the Order.
We are also continuing to pursue accountability through the proper legal and regulatory channels; however to date, we have hit a wall.
If you can help THANK YOU. If you can share, please do so. VISIBILITY MATTERS right now.
