Sew Scrubs for Gloucestershire

Thank you for helping with this campaign. We are trying to fundraise for material and ask if you'd like to sew to make scrubs for Gloucestershire nurses, GPs, doctors, health workers and county-wide care workers.

We have been working on responding to health workers, carers, GP's and nurses requests for scrubs in Gloucestershire in the Covid-19 pandemic and although we will be sewing we know the speed of sewing machinists will get the PPE equipment to those dealing with the constant risk of contracting Covid-19 each time they turn up for a shift. They are exhausted, emotionally drained and dealing with extreme stress fearing that they have been exposed to the Corona Virus while at work.
People are desperately trying to deal with care for the very sick and patients in intensive care. Health workers, nurses, doctors, GPs and care workers are not able to remain safe themselves. Many return home fearing that they are now also putting their own families at risk, some with children and family members that are high risk and extremely vulnerable with underlying conditions.
We needed to respond to this, do it now and do it safely. Initially, the Facebook page we set up was for sewing facemasks, but we have been told the dire need is for scrubs. We have been able to rally support from a local Gloucestershire clothing factory to begin work immediately alongside getting support across the county for people to sew at home.
How Can You Help? Four ways:

2. If you can't sew, but still want to help you can donate towards fabric needed for the sewing machinists on this Go Fund Me Page
3. You can donate or sew (or both ) for Gloucestershire or the UK wide group - 'Scrub Hub' at the following link: https://scrubhub.org.uk - and search for the Gloucestershire and Southwest to volunteer to sew and donate or for others outside of Gloucestershire to find one local to you.

We will be updating this page daily - Thank you so much for your support and helping us to help Gloucestershire health workers at risk and in urgent need.
Funds raised will be used to cover material and delivery costs so we can make more scrubs and help more doctors and NHS workers. Any left over funds at the end of the scrubs shortage we will donate to NHS Practitioner health, an organisation dedicated to supporting the unique needs of health care professionals and their mental health, which we think will be of great importance in the coming months.
