Señorita Floofy Floof is a very special cat that is my daughter’s constant companion. She was originally our foster cat after her previous owner surrendered her to a local rescue 3 years ago. As the days passed, my daughter fell in love with her affectionate and spunky personality. One day she looked at me with Señorita lying in her arms and promised to give me all her tooth fairy money if we could keep her forever. The tooth fairy money isn’t enough to cover her current expenses, which is why I am asking for help.
About 2 weeks ago, we noticed Señorita Floofy Floof wasn’t feeling well and was going to the litter box often. We took her to University of Florida’s Small Animal Hospital, thinking she had a UTI. They discovered she had something far more serious: kidney stones completely blocking her left ureter and part of her right ureter. The only options we had were euthanasia or an expensive surgery to remove the stones, which was complicated by the fact that she also has a bleeding disorder.
The surgery was successful, and Señorita is now recovering at home with strict activity limitations and wearing a pink body suit to protect her abdominal incision. Her surgical and hospitalization costs were just under $8,000, which is beyond belief and far more than I could have ever imagined spending on a cat. I know it seems crazy to invest so much in a single cat, but we could not imagine losing her so suddenly, especially when her condition was treatable. So now we are asking for any help you can give — even $5-10 or sharing this post can make a difference. Every dollar goes directly toward Señorita Floofy Floof’s medical bills and ongoing care, as she will need periodic ultrasounds to check for additional stone formation, regular lab work to monitor her kidneys, and special cat food for the rest of her life. Thank you so much for reading, sharing, and donating to our special kitty.
