Sender's Shul in Camp L'man Achai
Join us in dedicating Camp L'man Achai's Teen/Masmidim "SHUL" in memory of Sender Lelchitskiy for this summer season.
Sender Lelchitskiy, 38, passed away on Sunday, Beis Shvat 5777 after a heroic battle with cancer. Sender came to America from Kiev over twenty years ago. He learned in Lubavitch Yeshiva on Ocean Parkway and continued his studies at the Rabbinical College of America in Morristown, New Jersey. His spirited nature and easy smile brought joy to all those that knew him. Sender was an active member and volunteer with the Russian Jewish community in New York, especially with Camp L’man Achai.
He was one of the first campers at Camp L’man Achai and then later joined as a staff member. Sender was an active alumni, always willing to pitch in and lend a hand. Sender was an integral person to Camp L’man Achai and we miss him dearly.
Camp L'man Achai is a Jewish overnight camp that combines an enriched Jewish atmosphere with the best recreation programs. Camp L’man Achai is about making people feel welcome and at home in a traditional Jewish setting. It strives to let every camper take part in traditions they might not practice outside of camp and give them an opportunity to build meaningful and lifelong friendships, enjoying outdoor adventure and deepening their love of Judaism.
Please consider donating to this important cause and honoring our dear friend, Sender. Our fundraising goal is $30,000 in order to renovate and furnish the "SHUL" to make it a welcoming space for the boys to learn and daven in this summer.
