Send Chuck and Vikke on a 50th Anniversary Trip!

Dearest Friends and Family,

On December 22, 2023, Chuck and Vikke Phalen will be celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary! That's FIVE decades of wedded bliss and other shenanigans. Wouldn't you say that is deserving of at least a high-five, and perhaps at most an all-expenses paid vacation worthy of their commitment to one another? We would! These two love birds don't leave the nest very often, so it's on us, their village, to encourage them to enjoy the experiences they've always talked about, but haven't quite made the time for. That's why we're booking them on a two-week trip to Norway (Vikke's ancestral home) and other Scandinavian destinations! They'll be cruisin', viewzin', and snoozin' their way around Northern Europe, taking in the fjords, glaciers, and generally good-natured hospitality of the viking descendants.

But, a once-in-a-lifetime trip like this isn't cheap... and that's where you come in! We're jumping on the crowdfunding wagon, unapologetically asking for shame-free contributions to help offset the ridiculously high cost of traveling to another part of the world. Any dollar amount would be welcome and appreciated. Think about buying them a nice dinner out in Oslo, or a coffee and rommegrot on a crisp morning in Bergen, a Swedish massage in Stockholm before jumping on their 14-hour flight back to California, or even just their 14-hour flight back to California!

And shhhhhh... it's a surprise! We'll be presenting the gift to the magnanimous couple on or around their anniversary, so please don't let the cat out of the bag before then. After that, cat bag letting is acceptable. Any donors will be recognized, of course, in a heartfelt message to the couple.
