Help Us Bring Seán Óg to London for Life-Changing Therapy at NAPA Centre, London.
As many of you know, our wonderful son Seán Óg hasn’t had the easiest start to life. He has been diagnosed with infantile spasms - (a rare form of epilepsy), C.V.I. (a brain related visual impairment), global developmental delay and low muscle tone. At two years old he hasn’t yet reached the milestones every parent wishes for their child. He can’t walk or talk or do most things a typical two-year-old can do - yet!
We will never stop trying to help him progress and your generosity through donations will help us to help him further.
When we left Crumlin hospital after a difficult couple of weeks aggressively fighting his epileptic spasms, we were told he would need - and assured he would receive vital therapy from our local Children’s Disability Network Team (CDNT) to help him reach his potential. Unfortunately, the CDNT is not fit for purpose and Seán Óg has had little input from them due to staffing and other shortcomings that are echoed around the country.
Whilst we are aware Seán Óg will never live the life we had hoped for him, we work hard and fight for him every day to ensure he can reach his potential in life. We will never give up on our son and have been taking him privately for physio, speech and language therapy and occupational therapy and have watched him make fantastic progress in many areas.
This October, we are taking what we hope will a big step in his development by traveling to London so he can receive intensive therapy for three weeks at the world-renowned NAPA Centre. NAPA is known worldwide for its work with children who need extra support. They provide specialised physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, and feeding therapy, all under one roof and tailored to each child’s needs. Places are very limited, but we were lucky enough to secure a place after a competition. The opportunity is one we cannot refuse but also a significant financial challenge for our family. Your support will help us cover the cost of Seán Óg’s therapy program.
We hate to be in this position of asking others for assistance, but our wonderful and caring friends have got the ball rolling.
We hope to run a few events over the summer. All donations and support appreciated.
Thank you for being part of Seán Óg’s journey.
Your kindness, support, and encouragement keep us going.
The Ring family.
