Club Volleyball

Donation protected
Hello, my name is Payton. I live in a rural mountain town in Colorado. Since starting middle school I've had the opportunity to try out for school sports. I discovered my passion for volleyball and have played for my middle school over the last two years. I more recently discovered club volleyball and was eager to try it out. I successfully made the 14U Regional team. Volleyball is a strong community of people who support each other and are always trying to improve. It would be an amazing opportunity to improve my skills and have exposure to other teams. My goal is to further develop my playing abilities, learn leadership, and strengthen communication skills through team sports. Ultimately, I want to play on a high school team as well as at the collegiate level. I think that playing club volleyball will make me a stronger player and hopefully get the attention of a college scout. Living in a small, rural community can make getting out into the world and seeing what there is to offer, learn, and do more difficult. My overall goal with volleyball is to obtain a college scholarship and get a good education so that I am self-reliant.
Need for fundraising
There are numerous costs associated with club sports. These include but are not limited to: club fees (tryout fee, tournament entry fees, uniforms, etc.), hotels (out-of-town tournaments), and transportation fees (gas/air fair-some tournaments are far away).

Why I am worth investing in
I am an honor roll student and have been for the last 3 consecutive years. I currently have a 4.0 GPA and take advanced math and Spanish, while earning high school credits. Every day I practice speaking, reading, and writing in Spanish. I have received two different academic awards at my school this year for collaboration and resilience. I am part of my middle school’s Green Team. The main focus of this team is maintaining/improving the school’s appearance. I recently volunteered with my church/Samaritan’s Purse Operation Christmas Child to pack hundreds of boxes with Christmas presents and a bible for children around the world to receive. At the start of the Covid pandemic, I sewed/donated dozens of masks to first responders. I have also sewn/donated dozens of mastectomy pillows for breast cancer patients. I enjoy learning and helping others. I fully commit to what I do and strive for success.

Often, it is sports and academic clubs that help shape leadership and communication skills and provide opportunities for growth. Please keep in mind what investing in the youth of today means for the future of tomorrow. I appreciate your time and consideration. Thank you.
