Scotty's Legacy: A Memorial Bench at His Favorite Course
Donation protected
We’re working to have a memorial bench placed at Black Locust, our beloved disc golf course in Kensington Metropark, to honor the life and spirit of Scotty Carlson. If you knew Scotty, you knew his love for disc golf ran deep. Black Locust wasn’t just a course to him, it was a place of laughter, community, competition, and storytelling. It’s where he found peace, joy, and connection.
Scotty’s presence touched countless lives. Whether it was a shared round, a quick joke at the tee pad, or one of his endless stories that somehow always circled back to Black Locust, he made you feel seen, welcomed, and part of something bigger. He didn’t just play the course. He lived it.
This bench is more than wood and metal. It's a marker of love, remembrance, and the bond we shared with Scotty. It’s a place where friends can sit, reflect, and feel his energy in the breeze through the trees.
I’ve already started working with Kensington Metropark and completed the site assessment. The next step is submitting the application and payment to make this happen.
Many of you have expressed a desire to contribute, and I’ve set up a GoFundMe for those who’d like to help bring this vision to life. Every donation, big or small, honors a man who gave so much of himself to our community.
From his family and from the bottom of my heart, thank you. Your love and support mean everything, and this bench will carry Scotty’s memory for generations to come.
