Saving Carlee, a Special Needs Dog

Donation protected

For those who have been to TLC adoption events, many of you have seen Carlee 'tooling' around in her wheelie. Carlee has Cerebellar hypoplasia and was dumped at Camarillo shelter at the age of 4 weeks old by a backyard breeder.

Carlee has proven to be a miracle baby, surviving when most with this medical issue do not.  TLC volunteers taught her how to walk in a wheelie (the first was made of Tinkertoys, paperclips and a sock), how to drink water from a bowl and eat on her own.  Eventually Carlee was adopted by a TLC volunteer who was fostering her and has become one of the many faces of No-Kill in our county - you don't kill animals because they are not perfect or require extra care.

Without warning on Friday evening, Carlee was rushed to ER after becoming lethargic and bright red.  She is still at the Conejo Valley Animal Hospital (as of Sunday morning) and the vet bills keep mounting.

At TLC, we know unexpected vet bills like this cause even more stress while you are worrying if your furry family member will survive or not, without trying to figure out if you can afford to financially keep your BFF alive.  So we asked the owner if we could launch this GoFundMe to help ease the strain of keeping Carlee alive.
