Our dear Raju mama (uncle – Rajendar Reddy Podduturi) who was always full of life and made everybody around him laugh with his witty humor is now fighting stage 2 throat cancer. His father passed away with the same disease in 1999 and since then Raju mama being the eldest son took care of his family by becoming a farmer. Though he always struggled financially (like most of the farmers in India), he never showed it on his face. He was always smiling and made people laugh.
He never smoked or drank alcohol. We are all so saddened and shocked when we heard this news. He is currently receiving basic treatment under the Telangana State (India) healthcare program called Aarogyasri. He went through one round of neck surgery, where they had to cut a part of his tongue and now, he is barely able to speak or eat.
Since it’s identified early, the doctors said there is still a chance to cure this if we acted quickly. For that, we need to move him to a better facility and will have to spend around 30 lakh Indian Rupees (USD 50,000.00).
He is currently being treated at Basavatarakam Indo American Cancer Hospital & Research Institute in Hyderabad, Telangana, India. His 2 kids (a son and a daughter) are all by themselves for the last 3 months in a small town, 300kms away from their father and mother.
Please help us raise the required amount before Feb 16th, 2020 so we can save our uncle. He is one of the kindest person I know.
