Sara Fights Back!

This past weekend, the Guandique family was burdened with news that shook them to their core. Sara Guandique, devoted wife, mother to three beautiful women and loving grandmother to three (and soon four!) adorable grandkids was diagnosed with AML (Adult acute myeloid leukemia (AML), which is a cancer of the blood and bone marrow. Doctors have been quick to respond and secured her a bed in VGH, where she has just begun her first round of chemotherapy.

As a dear friend of the family, I have grown up loving this woman with all my heart, to the point where she refers to me as the “fourth daughter” of her family. 

As she undergoes chemotherapy (and the subsequent recovery in between), her and her daughter, Fathanee, will be relocating from their home in Abbotsford to the Vancouver area in order to receive the best care possible for the next 3 - 4 months. Fathanee has taken a leave of absence from work to care for her mother full-time, and is also 5 months pregnant with her second child. 

In order to meet the demands of the growing expenses related to relocation and treatment of her illness, we are graciously asking for donations to assist the Guandique family in making this transition.
