SANTA NIÑA (2025) - A Filipina Australian Short Film

After one year apart, two Filipina women must learn to reconcile with one another as mother and daughter on the night before Sinulog.

Kumusta kapamilya! My name is Nicole Cadelina, and I am an artist and writer based in Western Sydney (Darug). It brings me great pleasure to re-open the crowdfunding campaign for my short film, Santa Niña, here on GoFundMe.

Santa Niña focuses on the tumultuous relationship between two Filipina women in Western Sydney. Set during a rainy night at a local church, they must learn to reconcile and make amends with one another before Sinulog, a religious event celebrating the Feast of Santo Niño.

This production is largely self-funded by me, with additional funding from CuriousWorks and ACF. As part of this campaign, I am looking for additional funds to help relieve parts of the budget that I will be paying out of pocket. Whether or not you’ve donated to our previous campaign last year, this is an opportunity to support this project again – and you’re more than welcome to re-donate as many times as you wish!

The crowdfunding goal will currently cover the set fees allocated to our production HoDs. Once this goal is surpassed/close to completion, we will increase our target to help cover the additional set fees for our cast, crew, and other expenses such as post-production and festival fees.

We will be running this campaign until our project is complete. All donors who helped fund Santa Niña will be credited at the end of the film.
