Dear friends,

My name is Claudia Lopes, and I am reaching out to ask for your support for Lua, our sweet 5-year-old dog. Some of you may remember that nearly five years ago, I sought your help to cover the costs of her first surgery. Lua suffers from a severe congenital condition called pulmonary stenosis.

Last week, we took her to the Tierspital in Zurich (Veterinary Hospital) for a check-up, and unfortunately, we received heartbreaking news: her condition has worsened, and she now requires another surgery. This was a complete shock to us, something we never expected to hear.

"Diagnosis

Severe valvular pulmonary stenosis - Restenosis after balloon dilation;

compensated, meaning without right heart failure.

Comment:

Unfortunately, the peak gradient of the pulmonary stenosis has significantly increased after the balloon dilation and is now severe again. A new intervention or a second balloon dilation (Pulmonary Valvuloplasty) is recommended."

We live in Switzerland, and while the Tierspital is a public hospital, the costs are still very high. The surgery is scheduled for December 12th at 8:30 a.m., and it will cost approximately 3,000 Swiss francs, an amount we simply cannot afford at the moment.

Lua is an irreplaceable member of our family, bringing us love and joy every single day. That’s why we are reaching out to you for help. Any donation, no matter the size, will bring us closer to giving her the care she desperately needs.

If we manage to raise more funds than required, the excess will be donated to an animal welfare organization.

Cari amici,

Mi chiamo Claudia Lopes e oggi vi scrivo per chiedere il vostro aiuto per Lua, la nostra dolcissima cagnolina di 5 anni. Forse qualcuno di voi ricorderà che, quasi cinque anni fa, vi avevo chiesto supporto per finanziare la sua prima operazione. Lua soffre di una grave malattia congenita chiamata stenosi polmonare.

La settimana scorsa l’abbiamo portata a un controllo al Tierspital di Zurigo (Ospedale Veterinario) e purtroppo abbiamo ricevuto una notizia che non avremmo mai voluto sentire: la malattia è peggiorata e Lua ha bisogno di un nuovo intervento chirurgico. È stata per noi una vera doccia fredda, qualcosa di totalmente inaspettato.

"Diagnosi

Stenosi polmonare valvolare grave - Restenosi dopo dilatazione con pallone;

compensata, ovvero senza insufficienza cardiaca destra.

Commento:

Purtroppo, il gradiente di picco della stenosi polmonare è aumentato notevolmente dopo la dilatazione con palloincino ed è ora nuovamente grave. Si consiglia un nuovo intervento o una seconda dilatazione con palloncino (Valvuloplastica Polmonare)."

Viviamo in Svizzera e, anche se il Tierspital è pubblico, i costi sono comunque molto elevati. L’operazione avrà un costo di circa 3.000 franchi svizzeri, una cifra che al momento non possiamo permetterci. La chirurgia è fissata per il 12 dicembre alle 8:30 presso il Tierspital di Zurigo, e il tempo per raccogliere i fondi è molto limitato.

Lua è parte integrante della nostra famiglia, un essere speciale che ci regala ogni giorno amore e gioia. Per questo vi chiediamo un aiuto, anche piccolo: ogni donazione sarà un passo verso la possibilità di salvarle la vita.

Qualora riuscissimo a raccogliere più fondi del necessario, destineremo il restante in beneficenza a un’associazione per la difesa degli animali.
