Our beloved Sabah recently faced a terrifying and life-threatening medical crisis. What began as a severe infection quickly escalated to sepsis, a condition that overwhelmed her body and led to acute kidney injury (AKI) and liver failure. Her condition deteriorated rapidly, pushing her into critical territory.
Sabah was rushed to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), where she was immediately intubated and placed on a ventilator to support her failing respiratory system. To combat the severe kidney damage, she was initiated on Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT)—a specialized and intensive form of dialysis used for critically ill patients. There were moments when her prognosis was incredibly uncertain, and the doctors were deeply concerned that she might not survive. It was an agonizing time for all of us who love her.
But by the grace of God, and thanks to the unwavering dedication and expertise of her medical team, Sabah has made an extraordinary and truly miraculous recovery. She has bravely fought her way back from the brink, surprising everyone with her resilience. We are overjoyed to share that she has now been discharged from the ICU!
While this is a huge step forward, Sabah's journey to full recovery is far from over. She continues to require ongoing dialysis as an outpatient. Her medical bills have already mounted significantly, and the cost of her continued treatment is a heavy burden.
Our immediate goal is to bring Sabah home to Kenya, where her loving mother, sister, and the rest of her family can care for her. As soon as she is medically stable and cleared for travel, we plan to transfer her to Nairobi. This will allow her to continue receiving the specialized care she needs, surrounded by her entire support system, which is crucial for her long-term recovery.
We are reaching out to our community, friends, and anyone with a compassionate heart to help us alleviate the financial strain of Sabah's medical journey and facilitate her safe return to Kenya. Every donation, no matter how small, will make a profound difference in helping us cover her ongoing medical expenses and travel costs.
Please consider contributing and sharing Sabah's story. Your generosity will not only help us ensure she receives the best possible care but also bring her closer to the comfort and healing power of home in Kenya.
Thank you for your kindness, prayers, and support.
