Ryan's Rattlesnake Recovery Fund
My brother-in-law, Ryan went on an evening walk with his wife and two little boys. As he was walking down a dirt path near his home, a rattlesnake struck and bit him on the ankle. He ended up being taken by ambulance to the emergency room at a local hospital. This particular hospital was out of antivenin, so he had to be transported to another Valley hospital, which ended up giving him 10 vials of much needed antivenin. After 3 long and painful days of intense monitoring and testing, he was finally cleared to go home.
This was a traumatic experience in and of itself, but after adding up the known costs, it became an even greater scare. Just the antivenin itself cost $120,000. This did not include any additional expenses such as ambulance rides or the hospital stay. Fortunately, they do not have to pay the full amount, but they do have a staggering deductible of $10,500 due immediately, in order for the insurance to kick in.
This family has been forced to make some recent changes to help offset previous financial needs, and there just isn't room in the budget to accommodate for any additional expenses.
Please, if you are able, show my brother-in-law and his family some love, with this urgent financial burden. Any donation, large or small, would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you so much!
