Help Restore Rosie’s Garden — A 25-Year Robles del Rio Neighborhood Treasure
Since 2000, Rosie’s Garden, created and cared for by Robles neighbors and friends, has turned the NW corner of Esquiline and De Los Helechos from an eyesore into a beloved green haven. For 25 years, it has been a source of pride and joy for everyone in our neighborhood.
Why We’re Fundraising Now
In the past, upkeep was covered by generous neighbors and grants from the Carmel Valley Garden Club. Those funds have now run out. To keep Rosie’s Garden thriving, and to refresh it for the years to come, we are asking for your help.
Our Plan
We are beginning a much-needed refurbishment that focuses on beauty, resilience, and community use. This will include planting new native, drought-tolerant flora to support pollinators and conserve water. We will also upgrade the irrigation system to make it more efficient and reduce monthly expenses. In addition, new pathways, benches, and educational signs about the plantings will be added, turning Rosie’s Garden into a true destination. Neighbors will be able to pause and rest, listen to the river and birds, read a book, or catch up with a friend in a serene setting before or after a walk to the village.
These improvements will ensure the garden remains a vibrant and inviting place for everyone while also lowering ongoing costs.
How You Can Help
You can help in several ways. Any donation, no matter the size, will go directly to improvements and operating costs. Volunteers are always welcome, whether it is for planting days or seasonal maintenance. Spreading the word to neighbors and friends is another meaningful way to support the garden.
Donations and Tax Info
Your contribution can be made on this GoFundMe Page, or if you prefer to make a tax-deductible donation please send a check payable to Carmel Valley Garden Club/Rosies Garden and mail it to P.O. Box 2371, Carmel Valley, CA 93924.
A True Community Effort
Rosie’s Garden has always been maintained by neighborhood volunteers and members of the Carmel Valley Garden Club, and that will not change. If you are interested in helping with the refurbishment or ongoing care, please leave a comment here with your contact information, and we will reach out with upcoming workdays.
With your support, we can keep Rosie’s Garden flourishing for decades to come. Thank you for your generosity and community spirit.
