Riding 25 000km across the Americas

Hi everyone, I'm Olivia, the adventurer that started an amazing journey to follow my dream to cross the Americas on horseback from the city of Ushuaia, in Argentina to Prudhoe Bay, in Alaska. This travel, which is going to become my way of life for the next 5 years is representing for me a way to test my limits and knowledge, to be able to live a life while traveling and spending every minute of every days with my equine companions, Cacique, Bonsaï and Milo.

It is a way of traveling slowly, of learning to listen and to look at the beauty of our world, its nature, landscapes, animals and, of course, cultures that I’ll have the immense chance to be in contact along the way.
While traveling at 4km/h for 20 or 25km a day, I'm hoping to learn a way of living life at a rhythm that gives me the possibility to really enjoy the present, the little moments in life that are making it so amazing to live.

Traveling very slowly is not the only challenge that I encounter and will encounter during my travels. The need to adjust the distances for me to always have access to water and good feed for the horse at camp every day is the number one priority. My mantra is to always do what’s best for the horses in any situation. It might seem obvious, but in a journey like that, challenges to face and decisions to make in the organization are met every step of the way.

Whether it is about traffic, veterinarian appointments, energy level, potential injuries and, of course, the infinite amount of bureaucracy that I need to go through to get across the multiples countries that we’ll meet on my way to the destination, everything I do, I do it so the horses can stay healthy and safe.

Without my horses, there is no journey across the Americas.

That is why I ask for your help to care for the wellbeing and safety of the horses along the way, to give me a hand and be part of this amazing trip that is going to be my way of life for the next couple years. The amount of the contributions are going to go towards the horses needs and care.

The amount that I decided to raise is symbolic to the number of kilometers that I plan to ride and walk from the southernmost city of the world, Ushuaia, Argentina, to the shores of the Arctic Ocean in Prudhoe Bay, Alaska. One kilometer at the time I'm getting closer to my objective!

Here are the details of what I need for the horses to be able to stay in shape and keep going as far as possible towards my goal!

The money raised with our GoFundMe will help me cover the fees of:

  • Feed (Hay, grains, etc.)
  • Shoes and nails
  • Replacement or amelioration of equipment and tack
  • Veterinary bills (Vaccines, dewormer, health booklets, injury treatments, first aid supplies, etc.)
  • Countries importation fees and paperwork
  • Transportation (if needed)
  • Other items or services that I need to get for them

Come along, immerse yourself and share my journey with me, get to know us, the horses and the amazing people that I meet along the way on my social media as I share and hopefully inspire others to follow their dreams.
