Ricky's Dental Implants
Donation protected
During Ricky's childhood, I noticed that his baby teeth were not falling out and adult teeth were not growing in. Ricky and I visited many orthodontists, prosthodontists and dentists to discover he has a rare, genetic disorder where his adult, permanent teeth never developed in utero.
My son Ricky is an incredible young man who recently graduated from UNCW, has his first professional job and has never been able to smile a big grin, showing his teeth as he has large gaps in his 6'3, 24 year old frame. With student loans from college, he lives at home with me to save money.
We were able to find a generous orthodontist who told him the best course of action was to wait until age 21 when his jaw was fully developed to start the process of trying to build permanent, adult size teeth. The orthodontist has provided services of getting the teeth in the correct position free of charge, as he is so impressed with Ricky's character and gracious heart. The next steps for Ricky are 2 prosthodontist surgeries and the implants which will all together cost over $46,000. Medical and Dental Insurance does not cover this as they are considering it cosmetic when unfortunately, it is a rare genetic disorder.
Please help Ricky finally share a full smile that matches his bright personality! This will be a life changing blessing for Ricky. Any donation is incredibly helpful as Ricky is saving every penny for his new adult size teeth. Ricky has also asked for prayers throughout his medical process. The first surgery is scheduled for December 29th, 2021.
We will also be selling homemade Mexican food starting in December as a fundraiser for his implants. The schedule and menu for each Saturday will be posted closer to December.
Have a blessed holiday season and thank you for your support!
This is what Ricky's teeth looked like before braces (the age on the picture is incorrect, he was 20 with 11 months when those pictures were taken). The picture also shows the baby teeth he had up until March of 2019 when he had them removed. I will be posting more pictures of what his teeth look like now and once the full surgery is done. The main picture is an edited photo with a filter that makes it look like Ricky has a full set of teeth. We are hoping he looks like that once both surgeries are complete.
