The love of my life is a US citizen whom is trans, and currently, we are trapped on opposite sides of the border.
My darling spouse has nowhere to live.
My spouse is trans, and is being targeted in the US for their gender identity. They recently needed my help to escape a life-threatening situation for this reason. I am also genderfluid, and this has complicated our travels as we are both visibly gender non-conforming.
My spouse is a disabled POC queer person with chronic pain, and though they have found a place to rest temporarily, every day takes a toll on them, body, mind, and soul. They need to be here with me, to heal and rest. I need them to be safe.
I miss them every day. We exchanged marriage ducks with our vows and that little guy gives me strength♡
I have a plan to bring them home, however, rescuing them from what suddenly became a life-threatening situation in Southern USA was costly, especially since all their ID was stolen. Having to turn around at the US-Canada border was the final blow to our finances. My friends have done all they can to support us, but they are tapped too. We need the help of our community now.
As an aside, I am also disabled. I will be able to take care of us in the long term, but until I can get them here, keeping them safe is costly. When my partner gets home, our gofundme will come to a close. We expect this to take <2 years, but it depends on how quickly we can get the necessary approval.
Any donations you can offer us would go such a long way.
Here are our financial needs, in order of urgency:
☆ $200 for my spouse's groceries and medicine ✔️
☆ $1500 for our documentation ❗️
☆ $3000 for a cheap car ❗️
☆ $300 for gas to go to their side one time, and support their disability ❗️
• Any $ at all could make an enormous difference in our lives right now
As the situations develops, the costs will keep stacking higher. Therefore, until our documentation is approved, we will continue to review and expand our goals if we can reach the ones we have set.
Thank you all so much for hearing just a bit of our story<3
