The band room at Pretty Prairie High School was broken into. instruments and materials were vandalized just days short of the schools end of year concerts. I'm raising money to help the Band rent instruments for their upcoming concerts and/or replace instruments and materials that were damaged.
IMPORTANT UPDATE: From Music Teacher Anjeanette Ramirez at Pretty Prairie USD 311
Thank you to all the directors, schools, and individuals that have reached out to help us. After cleaning and assessing the last few days, we have discovered that the damage is not as severe as was first thought. No student-owned instruments were damaged and no concert music was damaged. The district lost 3 baritones, 1 tuba, an alto saxophone, a mellophone, a Clavinova piano, all the drum heads in the room along with many mallets and sticks, and some method books. USD 308 has graciously offered to loan us anything we might need until the end of the year and we will be taking advantage of their hospitality. Drum heads have already been ordered and the tuba is currently being repaired. It looks like we are going to make it. We are in the midst of compiling a list of losses for insurance and hope to have total replacement. Again, thank you for all the support and encouragement that has been poured out. We are overwhelmed with gratitude.
