Remembering Dr Shaheen and his family with Love
Donation protected
Dear Friends,
I hope this finds you well.
My name is Mahmoud, a General Practitioner medical doctor who has spent the past 15 months volunteering in the emergency department of Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in Gaza. Throughout this brutal war, I have dedicated myself to saving lives, standing on the frontlines of an unfolding humanitarian catastrophe. But today, I am the one in need of saving.
My family and I have lost everything, our stability, our livelihood, and even our sense of security. We have been displaced, stripped of all that we once had, and left to navigate the ruins of a life that no longer exists. The grief of losing my father last March only deepens the wounds we carry. Yet, through all the devastation, I have continued my work, refusing to turn away from those who need me most.
Now, as a temporary ceasefire has been announced, I find myself at a crossroads. For months, I have given everything to help others survive. But now, I must ask for help to rebuild my own life.
I never imagined I would be in this position, but the reality is undeniable. We need support, any amount, no matter how small, can make a difference in helping us find stability again. If you are able, please consider contributing or sharing this message with others who might be willing to help.
The funds I raise will be the sole lifeline for my family: my mother, brother, and my sister. Part of it will go toward repairing the damage to our home, but more importantly, it will help us rebuild our lives and endure the relentless hardships we face.
In collaboration with my dear friend, Dr. Maz from the UK, who has graciously taken it upon himself to ensure these donations reach us safely. I am deeply grateful for his kindness and support.
Your kindness is a lifeline, and I am deeply grateful for any support you can offer. Thank you for standing with us in our darkest hours.
With hope and gratitude,
