A Season of Giving: Refugee Students on a Mission of Hope

Lent is a time of prayer, fasting, and almsgiving—a season when we are called to do more for others. While almsgiving may be challenging for children, they can still take part by using their talents to drive acts of generosity. At Zotung Refugee Catholic Learning Centre, we teach our students that giving is for everyone, including refugees.

This Lent, our students are taking action by making and selling Easter bracelets to support the children at Rumah Kanak-Kanak Bondulu (Sabah), a home in urgent need of renovations to provide a safer and more comfortable environment. These bracelets will be available for purchase on our website, and we will also have a pop-up booth at St. Francis Xavier Church (Petaling Jaya) on 23 March 2025. To further support the fundraising, we have set up this GoFundMe campaign to receive donations. Our goal is to raise RM43,000 to improve their basic facilities.

Despite facing their own struggles as refugees, our students are eager to give back to society. By supporting this campaign, you are not only helping raise funds but also empowering our children to be agents of change—a invaluable lesson that will help them shape their future.
