Hope for St. Elizabeth: Rebuilding After the Hurricane

WHERE DO YOU GO WHEN EVERYTHING YOU HAVE EVER KNOWN IS GONE?

Tears streamed down Shana’s face as she stood in the ruins of her home, holding her daughter, Kayla, close. The roof was gone. The walls shattered. Every possession, every little comfort of their life, swept away.

Shana’s story is not unique. Across Brompton, there are countless families just like hers, each with their own story of loss, fear, and uncertainty.

Bringing Hope Back to Brompton

Our first step is to bring immediate relief to families devastated by Hurricane Melissa in Brompton, St. Elizabeth, where many people have been left homeless, sleeping outside, exposed to the wind, rain, and sun. Families who once had homes, farms, and shops now have only each other.

We will be assembling care packages filled with:
  • Non-perishable foods like rice and canned goods
  • Hygiene essentials such as soap, toothpaste
  • Sanitary items
  • Clothing for children and adults

Each package is carefully prepared to meet the urgent needs of families who have lost everything. We will personally deliver these packages directly to individuals and families. Every donation will reach a real family, a real person, a real story of loss.

Why Your Help Matters

This is not just about giving supplies. It is about reaching families who have lost everything, their homes, their belongings, their sense of safety. Your donation can show families like Shana and Kayla that someone sees them, that someone cares, and that even in the darkest moments, love and kindness can cross oceans.

These packages will be delivered directly to families and individuals in need by the Gordon family in St. Elizabeth, ensuring that every donation reaches a real family, a real person, a real story of loss.

The Organizers

This campaign is organized by the Gordon and Lewis families. Though we now live in the United States and Canada, St. Elizabeth will always be home. We were born and raised there, and our hearts remain tied to the people and the land that shaped us. We’ve seen firsthand the heartbreak Hurricane Melissa has caused.

We are deeply committed to supporting families, and are coordinating the collection, assembly, and delivery of care packages. Our mission is simple but powerful: to provide warmth, nourishment, and hope.

Updates: We’ll be sharing regular photos and updates with all donors as we pack and deliver the care packages, so you can see exactly how your generosity is making an impact.
