Rapunzel Rants May 5 & 6 at 8PM in LI City Queens

Hi! I am Alice Klugherz aka wonderland wizehart and with the creative and directorial help of Pedro J Rosado Jr have created Rapunzel Rants! To be performed May 5th and 6th in the Queens Green Space :

THIS fundraiser is to pay the performers and to go towards the expenses for this show; including costumes, props and rehearsals. Any money left over will go for an encore performance and premiere of the next fairy-saturated piece to be performed in December!

Rapunzel Rants springs from the fairy tale of the same name; only now she's an older woman with memory loss; trapped by a witch, flanked by a fairy, and a stage manager who helps her when she gets out of sequence. Rapunzel is in two worlds of aloneness; the 'super-connected disconnect' of now and the literal isolation of way back; when rebellious women were silenced in towers, nunneries, and worse.

Is it internalized ageism that keeps her in the tower? Society? Or the witch? Because the locks have rusted open...so what keeps her there? She dances when the brain fog takes hold. "What’s that word...what comes next?", she asks, as if dancing will help her remember. Choreographed, written and performed by Alice Klugherz with Pedro J. Rosado. The fairy is danced by Emily Vetsch. The sound design is by Allan D. Hunter with music by, Jack White, The Goblins, Frank Sinatra with samplings of Robert Cobert, Bernard Herrmann and George Duning.
