Team SP will be running for Suzanne!

UPDATE: Thank you to everyone's donations, allowing Suzanne to purchase a brand new wheelchair that is far more fit for purpose! Our team will be completing the Cumbrian Run on the 1st October to continue raising money for Suzanne's quality of life, ensuring her house has everything she needs to get around comfortably. We have 6 Team Suzanne members they are Paul, Steven, John, David, Andrew and Natalie. Four more weeks and we will be on light runs ready for the 13 miles on the day! Anything that you can donate for their effort will make a world of difference!

UPDATE: Thank you so much to everyone who has already donated, we have already raised so much for Suzanne's new wheelchair!! We have updated our donation goal to give Suzanne as many options as possible with purchasing a wheelchair that is suitable for her lifestyle.

Suzanne Rowley is one of our incredible staff members at System People and SP Training. Suzanne joined us in January 2019 to support the Apprenticeship team with admin and organisation. Over the next three years her life was thrown into a whirlwind of unexpected pain and grief. Suzanne is now trying to find her way back to her new normal.

After a cancer diagnosis in her pelvis, she ultimately ended up having to have her leg amputated and has been left with a wheelchair that is no longer fit for purpose to allow her to live her life to its fullest!

As a business, we have committed to donating £2,000 to start looking at a more functional wheelchair for day-to-day life.

"I would love to be able to get out in an electric chair, feeling protected, secure, and stable. This is the next step for me to open up my life again. I used to love visiting local markets, trips to the Lake District, even simply throwing a ball for the dog.

I am now celebrating 3 years cancer clear, instead of mourning the loss of my leg. I have a 75% chance of making it to year 5 and feel now is my time to reclaim my life. I owe a huge thanks to my family, friends, colleagues and to System People. I’m not quite back to invincible – but working on it."

We are so happy Suzanne is now able to look to the future and making positive steps for her independence. It is something that we feel so strongly about, wanting her to be able to do everything she is able!
