Race for Recovery Part II

Donation protected
To Our Phenomenal Community,

Like last year, Gina and I will be participating in Bay to Breakers on Sunday, May 20th on behalf of those who are survivors of strokes, families of stroke survivors, and/or are living with disabling conditions like our younger sister, Lily. For those who are unaware, Lily suffered an anaphylactic attack nearly 9 years ago on Christmas Eve and it changed her life completely.

At 5:30 am on Christmas Eve 2009, my family and I stepped into Lily’s room in the ICU to only find her in a deep unconscious state; she was in a coma. She suffered severe brain damage due to an unknown anaphylactic attack that is yet to be revealed til this day.

With Lily’s strength and courage, she finally opened her eyes after 1.5 weeks from her vegetative state. Fast forward 9 years of hard work, determination, and endless support, Lily is relearning how to walk, writing daily in her journal, and continuing to smile and laugh with the people around her.

We are raising money and awareness for the Stroke and Disability Learning Center at Cabrillo College, a place where Lily has been a student of since her accident. Every day she becomes stronger, smarter, and more independent because of SDLC, a place I believe in and know can use the money to help people out in meaningful ways.

We apologize for the short notice (again), but let’s beat last year’s record of $3,675.00 and run for stroke survivors, their families, and for my goofy, lovable, younger sister, Lily.
