Mama’s Cancer Fund

In november of 2021, we found that my mother not only suffered from a few strokes, but her breast cancer had returned and metastasized into her bones and spine. Shortly after, she lost her ability to walk. But challenge after challenge, she fought through! Not one of the doctors thought she would still be here or able to walk again, but i did. I knew her fighting spirit was not ready to let go, and we really enjoy the shock (and smiles) on everyones face at the cancer center each time they see her and how much she has improved.

My mom has always been the one to step out of her way to help others in need.

She would never put her hand out for help, but she will be the first to give it.

These past 10 months have been hard … mentally, physically and mostly financially.

Although she has Medicare, drug coverage is not included. The horomone blocking chemo pills she was prescribed cost roughly $13,000/month.

Unable to afford that, we applied for help through the hospital, but as you know, these things can take some time. Time is not on our side, so we made the decision to take the holistic route while we wait. (its been almost 5 months)

With the her alkaline phosphatase numbers steadily dropping, and the fact that the cancer has stabilized and not spread into her other organs thus far, it seems as if her cancer is responding well to the “treatments” we have been doing.

We still have multiple dr appts every month in Wilmington (roughly an hour and 10 min from the house) on top of testing, scans, therapy, her special foods, vitamins, special water and the price of gas just to get to and from the appointments has been extremely costly.

Living on disability , there’s just not enough to cover the hospital bills that are piling up .

i would like for her to be able to focus on healing instead of stressing about bills or having to skip important scans that she NEEDS so we can continue to monitor her progress .

my goal is to pay off these bills ASAP (creditors are not nice, even if your fighting for your LIFE) and for her to be able to receive the care she needs without having to constantly worry how she is going to pay for it.
