Magdalena Herrera Ramirez peacefully passed away on June 27, 2025, at 8:13 a.m., at the age of 79, surrounded by those she loved. Born on April 12, 1946, in Vista Hermosa, Michoacán, Mexico, Magdalena carried with her the warmth and resilience of her cultural roots throughout her life. Her deep connection to the traditions of Michoacán enriched her spirit and inspired warmth and unity in every aspect of her family’s life.

Daughter of Pedro Herrera and Maria Ramirez, Magdalena was the devoted matriarch of a loving family. After emigrating legally to the United States in the early 1970s, she built a new life in La Puente, California, where she raised six children. She is survived by her five adult children, twenty-seven grandchildren, and twenty-four great-grandchildren. For many, she was the glue that held the family together—a steadfast beacon of hope and unconditional love.

Magdalena’s journey was one of overcoming challenges with grace. She faced adversities with courage, including surviving COVID-19 at the age of 75 during a visit to Vista Hermosa, and she continued to nurture her family with unwavering devotion. Her resourcefulness was evident in every aspect of her life, from tirelessly ensuring her children’s financial security to pouring her heart into creating a home filled with care and vivid traditions that celebrated her Mexican heritage.

An accomplished cook and entrepreneur, Magdalena ran a successful home-based business, delighting friends, neighbors, and local companies with her delicious food. Her culinary talents were a testament to her creativity and love—qualities infused with the rich and vibrant flavors of Michoacán, a nod to her cultural identity that brought comfort and joy to many.

Magdalena’s faith was a cornerstone of her life. A devout Christian, she was baptized on June 26, 2025, by the pastor of Avivamiento De Fe in La Puente, California. Her spiritual journey, deeply entwined with her cultural heritage, provided solace and guidance throughout her life and left an indelible mark on all who knew her.

A tireless traveler, Magdalena cherished the connection between her roots and her new home, often journeying twice a year from La Puente to Vista Hermosa. These trips were more than mere journeys; they were heartfelt reunions with her homeland, allowing her to celebrate the beautiful blend of cultures that defined her life. Her time spent with her children Angelica, Beatriz, Victor, Hugo and her grandchildren, sharing stories, traditions, and laughter, remains a testament to her love and commitment to her heritage.

Although some of her adult children were unable to attend the services in person, her memory and spirit united the entire family in solemn tribute and gratitude.

Today, as we honor Magdalena Herrera Ramirez, we reflect on her boundless love, her unwavering strength, and the incredible legacy she leaves behind. The family kindly asks for any assistance to help cover the expenses for her services scheduled for the end of July 2025.

Magdalena’s life was a testament to the extraordinary power of love, sacrifice, and faith—a legacy intertwined with the vibrant cultural heritage of Michoacán that will continue to inspire and guide us all.
