Provide a 2nd chance for Black and Brown Youth

Tax deductible
“All young men should have a privilege of attending the Rites of Passage Program. If the decision was  up to me, I’d put this program in every institution around the world.”
                                                                                                                         Jahlil, ROP 2014 Graduate

Most graduates of our Rights of Passage Program feel the same way Jahlil does about our incredible program. And that’s why Positive Communication Practices (PCP) is continuing its work with incarcerated black and brown boys in the Bay Area. The statistics are staggering – that one out of every three Black boys born today can expect to be sentenced to prison, compared to one out of six Latino boys, and one out of 17 White boys.

Through our Rites of Passage Program, we are providing weekly Zoom group sessions with the boys in the juvenile facilities. We are actively supporting these youth by creating safe spaces for their transformational development.

At the same time, these marginalized youth are engaged in an emotional journey of self-awareness, self-reflection, and honest evaluation as they search to achieve personal discovery and self-actualization.

If you believe in second chances and that helping an incarcerated youth matters, please support our GoFundMe campaign. You can make your tax-deductible donation by clicking on       Donate (now) on this page.

We are working hard to reclaim our boys and our young men of color by providing them with the tools for success…and most importantly, with our love and respect. You remain a key to our success. We need your help so we can keep the Rites of Passage Program alive, especially during these difficult times. Here are a couple of ways you can help with our fund-raising efforts.

1.  Help spread the word about our work and this campaign. Sharing information about the Rites of Passage Program with your friends and family through postings on social media would be immensely helpful.

2.  A GoFundMe donation would be greatly appreciated.  Again, it’s as easy as clicking on     Donate (now) on this page.

Thank you for caring…and the many incarcerated young men we work with thank you as well. Be safe and stay healthy.
